Interesting! I may hop in on this! I will be away most of the day today. I remember reading this and it totally slipped my mind, thanks for the reminder!

So, what's the verdict on this, any good? I didn't have time to try it out yesterday, me and family went out of town. Now it's almost like its a waste for me to download the client just to play an hour or two today.

I played during the free weekend just to test out the game and see how it is. The setting is really interesting because it is a modern day MMO taking place between factions like the Illuminati and the Templars, which immediately hooked me in. The questing is your traditional run-of-the-mill MMO questing, but it takes place in interesting environments like the tank subway tunnels of NYC or a zombie-filled small town straight out of a classic horror movie.
The exception to the traditional MMO questing rule are particular quests which involve you investigating clues and trying to solve a particular puzzle. There's even a little in-game web browser that you can look at to do things like translate clues from other languages (or just look up the solution to the puzzle if you don't want to do the quest how it was intended.)
It was a lot of fun to play, but not something I would drop 60 dollars for in addition to a subscription fee, especially considering after both of those things there is still an in-game cash shop. A fun game, but not something I'm going to be getting into. (Especially so close to the release of my dream MMO.)

I actually ended up purchasing it after my free to play weekend. It's really different than anything I've ever played, MMO-wise. There are no levels, but you do earn experience points which go towards ability points. You use these ability points on a wide range of weapons - assault rifle, blade, blood magic, just to name a few. You can use two weapons at a time (I'm currently using chaos magic and fist weapons). You also get skill points that go into your weapons which allows you to use higher quality weapons (ranging from 0-10). It can be a little overwhelming, but you earn your points fairly fast and if you put points into something you don't like, you'll probably need them later on. I really love the atmosphere...think Silent Hill/Stephen King. And there are zombies, so bonus in my book! There are action and stealth missions...so it's not always about kill this guy, etc, etc. You have to avoid cameras, guards, etc. I'm still learning as I go and it's really enjoyable. I'm solo at the moment, don't have a guild yet(called a "cabal" in this game). I think they just did some revamping to their Marketplace (Auction House) and it's a bit buggy. Some delays with receiving items once purchase/sold. I actually had an issue with this which was pretty frustrating...still has not yet been resolved. In-game support was fast though. Overall though, I really love the environment...super creepy. There are little cinemas you get during some missions, and the voice acting is pretty decent. I think that's a nice touch rather than just reading some text you could care less about. I have yet to try out the dungeons or PVP, so I can't comment on those.

I think that's a nice touch rather than just reading some text you could care less about. I have yet to try out the dungeons or PVP, so I can't comment on those. The theme of the game was what stood out to me the most, playing as the fabled illuminati was pretty darn cool. The voice acting and writing was really campy, in an excellent way. Some of the NPC's in the zombie-infested town reminded me of really campy old horror flicks in the best of ways. The atmosphere of questing in a small town overran by the undead is great, and I loved what I played. I'll be honest, if this game wasn't released so close to the MMO I've been excited about for years, I'd probably play it. I loved the environment and the investigation quests, and the action points system seemed addictive. Using a katana against the undead horde makes for a fun game regardless of the quest. So yeah, I agree with you on most of what you said. Awesome atmosphere, almost silent-hill like at some points. If another free weekend rolls around or a free trial becomes available, I would recommend people take the time to try it just to see what it's all about. It's worth checking out.
