All,
So, I have been on a quest to buy a new gaming mouse and keyboard. My primary goal was to purchase a new keyboard and mouse that would accommodate games like GW2. I needed easy to reach programmable keys that I could use to remap skills to. GW2 has 14 in total! 1-5 are your weapon skills, 6 is healing, 7-9 are utility skills, 0 is your elite, and F1 - F4 are your class profession skills. What' more is that unlike GW1, you now have to be actively moving / dodging while activating said skills, and the F1 keys are a pain to reach up for!
The combo I ended up buying and that I am extremely happy with is a Razer DeathAdder mouse and a Razer Ananasi keyboard. Currently, Bestbuy has them both on sale! Not sure how long it lasts, I think it may end tomorrow... The DeathAdder is currently $40 and the Anansi is $80. That's $30-$40 less than Amazon/Newegg at the moment.
The DeathAdder gave me two very functional buttons that are easy to reach and not easy to mispress while the Anansi gave me 7 thumb keys located underneath my spacebar! The thumb keys, imo, are genius! I love this concept. Honestly, your thumb resting on the spacebar in mmo's is severely underused. I have found the added 7, easy to whack, keys underneath the spacebar to be extremely practical and functional! I am currently using three of them in D3 to map Inventory, Map, and Town Portal.
Maybe I will write up a review with pics for each one and post it on here for you guys to see. The Anansi looks so much better in person than the pics Ive seen online. I took a chance on it seeing that the online user reviews paint it as a mediocre keyboard. I thought that buying locally was a good idea since I could easliy return it if I wasn't satisfied. I must say that couldn't be happier with it!
