Hello All. I really want to spec my Engineer with a build towards grenades and turrets. So any suggestions for the two trait lines to spend 30 points on. In going over this with Aaron (Slovo) seemed that points me in a direction of Explosive and Inventions. Anyone else doing something similar? Different? Ideas are never a bad thing

I stand by what I said, and have even decided to run with that same build. Turns out grenades are in right now, and spam builds are very effective.

I didn't think engi had aoe at first but with grenades, I realized i was totally wrong. In pvp I get so many kills with that kit...definitely a good build to go with. I've also been realizing the importance of frequent kit switching to keep conditions stacked...especially with the trait that allows a kit switch to spawn an ability or attack upon switching. I was running turrets in my utility slots for a while and they're great for pve but i've found using those slots for elixir gun/flamethrower/grenade kit to be much more effective at player killing.

Good ideas. The one I'm currently running is a condition, dual pistol build. I basically rotate through skills and kits then fill in with a turret or elixir and tool belt skills as necessary. I start of with pistols to apply conditions then rotate to flamethrower for blinding and more conditions the bomb kit for more blinding and conditions then back to pistols. Turrets, med kit, elixirs as needed.
I still have my old faithful power rifle build but the pistol one has been really fun and effective as I got used to it. Nothing like wailing on a mob the moving on to another and watching the first drop from the condition damage.

I am using almost exclusively the rifle now in pve. The reason for this is primarily there is a bleed cap where mobs can not have more than 25 bleeds at any one time. I have had large events on champions where there were lots of players firing. The champion stayed at his bleed cap constantly and after the even I would get a bronze. This has not happened with the rifle because most of the damage is direct.
In PVP, I am still debating but right now sticking with rifle due to familiarity.
