Having a lot of trouble focusing at the office. Have a high priority upper management level project to do by march 2013... I just want to think of gw2 stuff instead! Gah! One major let down over the weekend though was grouping with friends. Or lack of it. Actually grouping with them was fine, but trying to find them and be on the same "server" and not an overflow was very frustrating. Hopefully that will be arena nets top priority.... And not something they would prefer to forget while daydreaming of gw2, like their fans

hehe,
I hear ya Orion. I'm in the same boat (minus the project deadline of March 2013). I cant remember longing for a game as much as I am for GW2. I was quite excited when TOR was released but nothing like this.
As for the grouping, I would like if we have an option to change instance to the same as my party. Seems even entering an instance/city and exiting does not work all of the time. Keeping in mind that these past 2 days were the first 2, I am quite impressed with the roll out.
I think the true test will be tomorrow night when those who did not pre purchase the game come in. but yeah....withdrawals borderline cold sweats over here.

Having a lot of trouble focusing at the office... Yeah, this has been the norm for me lately with the run up to launch. Due to an especially busy weekend I was only able to put a few hours in on Friday night, and finally a few more last night; almost entirely within the overflow servers. That was okay though since I'm still trying to learn the ropes and I think this game rewards you when you take your time. Luckily, there is lots to read and catch up on, though I also have a pile of data to work through here at work. So.... back to it.

The overflow stuff is a pretty temporary problem - at launch there's obviously going to be too many people in one area to run the game properly, so the overflow servers are a necessary evil. I do hope that joining friends in whatever particular server they may be in will become easier in the future, however, as the focus of the game Is playing with others. It'd be a shame to have that ranking/deranking system in place only to not allow players to cooperate due to the server stuffs.
Also, I have focus issues as well. Today I found myself thinking to myself while working on an assignment whether I would get Danomeon to level 80 and 100% complete the world on him or just move on to leveling other characters upon him hitting 80. I also contemplated if I should go around and do all of the starting areas first. Decisions, decisions.

Actually, there is a way to play with your party. Once you're in a party, if one of you is in the overflow server, just right click on the other player's portrait on the left side and click "Join In" and you will be transported to that person's correct server. I don't remember if the person in the overflow or the person in the normal server has to do it. But that's how you take care of that.
