Had a great time in WvWvW last nite and my ranger rocked. Just a couple suggestions: 1:) If we are doing a guild event there, make sure all that would like to group is in a group before we launch. 2) Make sure everyone knows where we all plan to go in there its a big place, but also remember it is a very fluid battle with alot of excitment going on, if you get seperated just try to make your way back, without getting frustrated or worse pissed. Last nite there was some accidental confusion which may or maynot have caused a small problem. The Chars had a group (those racist pig eaters) which started a sorta group want, which got things a bit confusing. Then being it is a big area and alot of us don't know it very well or at all, didn't know where to go or what to do. This caused some problems too. I didn't group nor did I really want one from my first visit to the area, having played and died alot in other pvp I realized I better learn before I try to stay with a group that will be wondering (where did Crow go? ooops he's dead again, sigh) he he. Big suggestion follow the masses, link up when you can, kill kill kill, and most of all enjoy and have fun....

Sounds good. We all agree we need to get a squad going. The "create squad" option was disabled for all of us... and I just found out why! Check it out: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/SquadWe need to purchase Commander's Commpendium... now check out what a commander can do: - Squads are allowed to send messages via the squad chat channel - A squad icon will be shown over the heads of characters that are members of the squad; these cannot be seen by members of another squad. - Squad commanders can use the map to place waypoints and specific commands, e.g. to designate a regroup location or the area to begin an attack. - The maximum size for a squad is not currently known. Pretty cool! I like the placing waypoints on the map deal! That would have been awesome! -logga

This is lame... I just went a looked up the Compendium and it costs 100g !? C'mon Anet, for game so awesome, I think it's a pretty bad decision to charge that high of an in game currency to allow a guild to play together well If only there was an option to have guildmates show up on the map like team mates do...

I do believe Logga that the guild has strong enough leaders, kiss kiss (he he) that we can pretty much rule when we have events in pvp. Just needs more coordination. But again for our guilds first shot in WvWvW we kicked butt....

As long as it is scheduled ( I wouldn't mind if it was daily, because it was that much fun), and we all have c3, it shouldn't be a problem. I know us charrs got together first and ran out with our warband like a bunch of idiots, but going forward it should run smooth. "WE GOT THE BRIDGE, NOW RUSH'EM!!!" best time in the game so far See u out there

First off, last night was a great first attempt at WvW for mighty SaF!!
With regard to the cost of the Commander icon; the cost has been established that high to discourage "everyone" from having one. You can imagine the confusion if everyone on the battlefield was a commander. This would obviously negate the purpose.

Squads will definitely make this a much smoother occurrence than it was last night. One thing that everyone should do before this happens again is familiarize themselves with the WvWvW option and learn how to enter and get around the place. Also make sure that everyone learns how to enter subchannels of S&F in C3, as WvWvW groups should be in the WvWvW channel so that those not participating can hang out in the main channel. Part of the issue last night was that a lot of people didn't know how to even get into WvWvW. As people play the game more and learn how to do these things and operate C3 these problems will be less and less frequent. It's understandable that people were confused; after all, it was the day the game launched for us pre-purchasers. But please understand if anyone was left out that spontaneously coordinating that many people without a squad option can be very difficult; most people weren't even able to see our chats through all of the action.
On a positive note: What an awesome way to kick off our guild on Borlis Pass! There was a massive turnout of people at the fountain, and I really loved crashing castles with all of my new buddies in S&F. I hope we are able to do this many more times; that bridge standoff was fantastic!
