Having never played GW or the GW2 beta, I've been doing research to help prepare for launch day, so that I can hit the ground running with my Asura necromancer (of course, his legs are rather short, so think of it more as a fast walk). As I was scouring the web, I realized that it might be helpful to other guild members to have a thread dedicated to useful GW2 links. Listed below are few of the ones I've run across that I thought would be worth sharing. Please feel free to post and add additional links. The more we can learn, the more fun we can have playing this awesome game! List of keyboard & mouse controls: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/ControlsQuick reference card for keyboard & mouse controls, basic text commands (e.g., /invite), and weapons used by each profession: wiki.guildwars2.com/images/0/00/GW2_QRC_NA_Digital.jpgUser interface (i.e., what all those symbols on the screen actually mean): wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User_interfaceHome page for the official GW2 wiki. From here, you can find links to the various profssions, skills, crafting, and just about anything else: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_PageNote: profession-specific web pages are probably best posted to the new profession sub-forums that Logga created yesterday. You can find those here: smokefire.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gw2professions

I'm not big into theorycrafting builds and all - cause i like to work out my own playstyle, but if you want to research some skills, see what you have available with each weapon and how they interact, this site may come in handy. en.gw2codex.com/build/generator/I use it to check out my combos but i've found my playstyle evolves so much as i level the toon - i really dont plan out too far in advance what I'm gonna trait.

Is there really an optimum play style for each profession at the moment? I mean, isn't that what ANet was trying to get around?

no - i dont think there is actually. all depends on how you use it and what you're focusing on...buffs, conditions, crits, ect.

When classes are able to do melee, ranged, support, and healthy builds that can emphasize different things like damaging enemies or buffing enemies, it becomes difficult to quantify which build is 'optimal' because they all have different purposes and styles of helping the team. I love it! Anyways, I've been watching any videos I can get my hands on. For those in the guild who haven't had a chance of playing the game yet some videos like this can be helpful in introducing newcomers to the mechanics of the game.

@dano, thanks for posting the video! It had many tips I hadn't heard anywhere else, such as the option for click-casting of targeted AoE spells. jade, I checked out the GW2 codex, and it looks like it will be useful for tinkering with builds, and getting ideas from other people. Phoenix, I've also enjoyed the WoodenPotatoes videos, and found them to be both interesting and informative.
