So I was looking at my calendar for next weekend, and realized with horror that my girlfriend is scheduled to come over. Therefore, I will be requiring the services of a Mesmer to create a simulacrum of me for that time period. The clone need not be perfect, just good enough to fool her while I'm hiding in my study playing GW2.
If that isn't feasible, I can make do with a time warp spell, so long as it doesn't spawn permanent copies of me, a-la the poor souls from the movie "Primer".
As a last resort, I will be forced to perform a midnight grave robbery, and use my Necromancer to reanimate a corpse to pose as me. I'm hoping to avoid this, as getting ichor out of the carpet is nearly impossible.

i suggest getting your GF to play the game with you its how my BF and i get quality time - lol. Sadly, she's not into gaming. Perhaps some sort of charm spell would do the trick. Or an illusion that would make her believe that she's watching "Downton Abbey", when in reality she'd be playing GW2.

Last time I checked, there was no spell which can relieve GF aggro. Just endure the hit and get back to us later.

maybe if you introduce her to all these cool people..... Yeah. I may be a mesmer capable of cloning you, but mesmer clones only do one of three things. Some will sit motionless next to your girlfriend, doing nothing whatsoever. Others will attack your girlfriend head-on, attempting to kill her. The third will stand still and buff your girlfriend, but I don't think people in real life have any use for increased health pools or poison-tipped attacks. Worse yet, if I accidentally shatter your clone your girlfriend could be killed, dazed and confused, or she could be buffed. I think the F4 key shatters clones and buffs allies. But, rather than risking the death of your special ladyfriend, I think you should take Jade's advice. We're all so cool on here, I'm sure your girlfriend would love us. In fact, I'd wager that we might be the coolest people you know. Actually, hang on a minute, what are you doing with your girlfriend? We're much cooler. I'm obviously kidding. Have fun with your girlfriend, if you plan on staying up on Friday you should get plenty of time in before your appointment.

Love before gaming repeat often! then sneak on later when she's asleep But who does he really love, Jade? Is it his girlfriend, or is it his charr warrior? I think he should be asking himself these questions right about now. Again, obviously kidding The game'll still be here, it's not going anywhere. Enjoy your time with the ladyfriend, we'll all be waiting for you when you get back. It's not like you need to keep up with anyone - the deleveling means you can play with anyone you want at any time. Time investment is not much of a concern in GW2

Driving home last night, I actually tried to explain to my wife how this game is so much better than the old game she saw me play, WOW. As I tried to explain the difference in gameplay, graphics, WvW, dynamic events, this great guild I am apart from, her simple reply was " At least u made $$ in online poker sitting in front of the computer at night!!, I don't think anyone is going to but your leather bags in the real world"
I then paused, and then turned up the radio in the car for the rest of the ride home.

jade, I'll give that a shot. Maybe when she hears how awesome all of you are, she'll want to feel cool by association, and play the game too. I'll follow your advice on waiting til she's asleep (may assist that process with a well-placed Ambien), then tiptoe back to my PC. @zypher Wynn (cool name, btw), your comment reminded me of a hilarious thread I saw on the Diablo 3 forums prior to launch, in which a guy was asking (apparently quite seriously) whether he should break up with his girlfriend before or after the D3 release date. danomeon, you're a riot! (Have you considered a career in writing for sitcoms?) If my clone can sit motionless next to my girlfriend, then that might work, as I could put season 2 of "Downton Abbey" on in the TV room and park them on the couch for 12 hours. @slovo, I'll do my best. Bribery may be involved. kassats, I literally LOL'd when I read your comment. Reminds me of sooooo many conversations I had with my ex during my WoW playing days. She never could I understand why I invested countless hours in that game. Which is probably why she's my ex, instead of my current

I think your suggestion regarding Downtown Abbey topped anything I said though, that was pretty funny. I could see a motionless clone of myself doing a pretty good job of interacting with a lot of my exes as long as a television set were in the room.
