I was curious what other people listen to (if anything) while gaming i.e. Music, TV, nagging girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse, crying baby, etc.
I listen to either music, or have the TV on the background just on some random channel or possibly playing a movie.

From what I have heard in the game (music wise) so far has been awesome.
At least from the start I will be listening to the game (music/voice overs/me dying). Then put in the Guild chatter!!!!

I listen to the soundtrack with my puppy snoring and sometimes barking in the background.

Depends on what game I'm playing. If I'm just grinding out HoM in Guild Wars, or just dicking around in Minecraft, I'll generally listen to whatever I'm in the mood for. RUSH, White Zombie, Guns 'n Roses, etc.

I'm boring. I very rarely listen to anything else but the soundtrack. The only time I have really listened to anything else out of game was with a common group in LOTRO's Moors where the raid leader always had his own (pretty good) channel.
Logga, is there a way with C3 to have background music in chat. We could have honourary DJs during guild events. Would be funny to see what people come up with!
Edited due to me sucking at typing on my cell.

I usually listen to the soundtrack, for awhile at least. I got bored enough with WoW's music that I started listening to pandora (90's rock/alternative mostly, never grew up out of that, however sometimes classical or jazz).

Depends on the game. Some I will listen to the soundtrack while others, I'll turn on Spotify and listen to it instead. Only time I don't is when my wife is talking to me.

In GW2 I listen to the in-game music, as i feel like the orchestral tunes do a great job of making the game feel epic. In addition to this, the game's sound design is FANTASTIC, a good example being the deep booming roar of the pistols firing.
I'm sure I'll hit a point where I just want to listen to music and play GW2 while leveling, at which point I'll probably throw on some favorites. I'm not going to link some of the way-too-out-there-for-most-people-to-listen-to-without-refusing-to-ever-speak-to-me-again-out-of-fear music that I listen to, but I will say that I like to listen to some... interesting music oftentimes while gaming. There are some tamer artists I enjoy like the Pink Floyd or the Flying Lotus as well.

There are some tamer artists I enjoy like the Pink Floyd or the Flying Lotus as well. The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon, for the win! But I also like Umma Gumma. My three favorite pink floyd albums are dark side of the moon, (the intro and ending in particular are some of my favorite songs of all time. Breathe and Brain Damage/Eclipse... yum.) Animals, (Dogs is an incredible song), and Wish You were Here (Respect to Loggahead's avatar and Welcome to the Machine.) My favorite Pink Floyd song is Echoes. I also listen to a wide variety of artists from different genres. My favorite artist in particular is one I'm not sure if I'm quite comfortable sharing with the group yet... it's VERY polarizing music. Maybe we'll have a music discussion one day and I'll let it slip, but for now I'm keeping a tight lid on some of my musical preferences. Also, a tip of the hat to the sound design for the Mesmers as well. Some awesome sounds were gracing my ears as I melted enemies' minds and created illusions.

When I'm playing a game I usually prefer to listen to the game. I don't mean I'm listening to the sound track even, just the game itself. Usually when I game I like the enjoy all aspects of it and that includes all the sound effects. I love to hear spells going off or mobs dying or the sound of distant combat. I don't usually listen to my own music because I don't want that music to overpower the game's own sound effects.
However, with MMOs, I do eventually get to the point where I've heard enough of the game and will listen to some of my own music. I don't play anything specific, just something random from my music library. This is only for MMOs, though; I never listen to music when playing a FPS or other genre of game.

I plan on listening to the Guild Wars 2 music, I do not think I will wanna use my own music for a good year or two. The only music I hated after awhile was wow.... as only a few areas had music that inspired.

I love listening to my favorite tunes when I game, more often than not I get really sick of game sound tracks within 20 minutes or so haha. I do listen to a pretty wide variety of music though from most dubstep to Pantera and Metallica. Billy Talent! Disturbed, The Gorillaz, Lupe Fiasco, Childish Gambino, Breaking Benjamin, A Day to Remember, We Came As Romans. ...to name a few lol. So yeah a pretty wide variety and alot of unconventional artists in there

A lot of the music opinions being stated in here led me to create an off-topic musical tastes thread to see what all of you enjoy the most. Feel free to share your musical tastes in that thread and see others' if you wish. Anyways, recently I've really been getting into the GW2 soundtrack. I'll probably listen exclusively to that, it has some absolutely fantastic production (specifically on the tracks I linked in the '7 days to go!' thread.)
